Pre-REAC/NSPIRE (HUD) Inspection Consultant

US Housing Consultants, LLC is seeking a qualified candidate to join our industry-leading team of Inspection Consultants. As a member of our team of Inspection Consultants, you would perform HUD NSPIRE inspections on assisted housing properties. Inspection Consultants work both regionally and nationally, working with owners and agents of HUD and Tax Credit assisted properties to remain in compliance with national inspection standards.

To join our team, candidates should have a general knowledge of building systems and components, and a willingness to learn about effective ways to evaluate multifamily and assisted living assets. Candidates with prior experience in affordable housing, building maintenance, construction, and professional inspections are preferred, but anyone with an interest is welcome to apply. The most important qualifications are a desire to learn, working well with clients of all backgrounds, providing calm and intelligent advice, and having a genuine appreciation for helping others.

Inspection Consultants work throughout the country and have to travel to properties, some travel may be local and other travel will include air travel. The day-to-day job of an Inspection Consultant requires a lot of walking, and travel to and from properties. Daily hours may vary, and occasionally travel on Sunday is required.

Qualified individuals will have the following skills and abilities:

  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with all property staff and tenants
  • Be comfortable with business travel, including air travel, rental cars, and hotels
  • Basic knowledge of building and site components, Exterior, Interior, Common Areas, Systems and Mechanical Rooms, and Grounds
  • Must be comfortable working and moving around at various heights (rooftops) and moving up multiple flights of stairs at a quick pace
  • Must have a valid Driver’s license and be 25 Years or Older

Compliance Analyst – National Traveler

Are you a Recertification Specialist, Occupancy Specialist or Property Manager who is passionate about HUD and LIHTC compliance? If so, consider joining our growing consulting firm. We are seeking an Affordable Housing Compliance Analyst to travel nationwide assisting clients with their compliance needs.  We are looking for an Analyst with the following qualification requirements:

Affordable Housing Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of HUD Project Based Section 8 and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit programs with some knowledge of USDA RD program, HOME, or Public Housing.
  • Two (2) Industry Certifications for HUD or LITHC Compliance (COS, BOS, HCCP, etc.)
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience with auditing HUD/LIHTC/HOME/RD/PHA files
  • Passion to stay current on all updates and changes in affordable housing programs and requirements.

Our ideal candidate would have experience in the industry and who is passionate and wants to work with clients located throughout the country to ensure compliance with resident files, regulatory agreements, waiting lists, policies, procedures and with site staff. A qualified candidate must have the availability to travel the country for on-site file audits, assistance and on-site staff training at least 50% of the time. When traveling, all travel time is worked time and calculates towards overtime.

Beneficial Employee Skills:

  • Detail orientated, analytical and possess accuracy in calculating income and assets.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and proven ability to prioritize tasks and project goals.
  • Computer literacy with property management software(s) (Yardi, Resman, OneSite etc.)

Compliance Analyst

As a member of our team, you would perform file reviews and approvals on a wide-ranging of funding programs, including HUD, Tax Credit, Public Housing, and others.  Our ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for affordable housing compliance, experience in the industry and is ready to become part of our team of compliance professionals

To join our team, candidates must have strong knowledge of HUD Section 8 and LIHTC programs, and experience working with and/or auditing HUD/LIHTC/HOME/RD/PHA files. Candidates with knowledge of additional programs such  USDA/RD, HOME, and Public Housing may be given preference. Additionally, candidates with industry certifications such as COS, C3P, HCCP are preferred. However, the most important qualifications are a desire to learn, work well with customers of all backgrounds, provide calm and intelligent advice, and have a genuine appreciation for helping others.

US Housing Consultants is based in Concord, New Hampshire. However, the compliance services team is a remote workforce, so potential candidates can be located anywhere in the United States. Potential travel for onsite work and industry events may be required.

Controller

US Housing Consultants, LLC is seeking a qualified candidate to work from their home office on the East Coast of the U.S. to join our industry-leading Affordable Housing company.

As a member of our team, you would support the Chief Financial Officer by performing multiple duties related to the accounting functions of the organization within established deadlines. This position is responsible for the proper and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger in accordance with GAAP. You would be assisting with oversight of finance team members and financial duties including posting payroll, vendor/customer relationships, annual budgets, etc.
