HOTMA Brings Changes to Income Calculations

The Housing Opportunity through Modernization Act has substantially changed how income-adjusted income is calculated for HUD and Rural Development Programs.

In this two-hour webinar, Gary Kirkman, Director of Compliance Training, will provide a comprehensive review of determining adjusted income under HOTMA. This session will not only cover the HOTMA changes, but will also provide a refresher on how to determine adjusted income that were not impacted by HOTMA.

Topics include, but not limited to:

  • Dependent Deduction
  • Child Care Expenses and Hardships
  • Disability Assistance Expenses and Hardships
  • Elderly/Disabled Household Deduction
  • Medical Expenses and Hardships

Learn how to calculate adjusted income for a household.

Mastering income verification and certification is an essential skill for those looking to advance their careers in affordable multifamily housing. Managers looking to ace their MORs or compliance reviews should consider this knowledge a key component to success. Likewise, regional managers looking to provide leadership to their staff must develop a masterful understanding of these important rules.
