ACE LIHTC COMPLIANCE

US Housing Consultants’ ACE LIHTC Compliance is a two-day in person course designed to help affordable housing professionals confidently navigate the complexities of LIHTC project compliance.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THIS TRAINING

This interactive course takes a deep dive into the laws and regulations governing the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. Through detailed explanations, real-world scenarios, and practical exercises, participants will gain a solid understanding of how to maintain compliance and why it is vital for project success.

Monitoring overall project compliance is one of the most intricate aspects of LIHTC administration. Our trainer will break down challenging topics such as annual credit calculations, income and rent limit determinations, and compliance with minimum set-asides and deep targeting. The training also covers essential standards for household eligibility and critical reporting requirements to ensure ongoing adherence to IRS guidelines.

TOPICS INCLUDE:
  • Calculating earned income, unearned income, and income from assets
  • Leasing requirements and student eligibility
  • Managing project set-asides and eligible basis
  • Determining rent limits and applying utility allowances
  • Implementing best practices to stay in full compliance

Note: This training will be conducted post-HOTMA and will cover HOTMA requirements only. Pre-HOTMA requirements will not be addressed. 

LIHTC ACCREDITED COMPLIANCE EXPERT (ACE)

Participants will have the opportunity to take the US Housing Consultants’ LIHTC Accredited Compliance Expert (ACE) Online Exam. This certification recognizes affordable housing professionals who demonstrate an in-depth understanding of LIHTC compliance — including household eligibility, rent calculations, project development, and overall program requirements.

Professionals holding this designation have a demonstrable and thorough understanding of determining household eligibility, rent, how the project was developed, and much more for the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program.

HOUSING CREDIT CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL (HCCP)

Participants will have the opportunity to take the Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) paper exam through the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

Please note that the HCCP exam will be proctored in person on November 12, 2026, beginning at 8:30 am for those who choose to take the paper exam.

CLASS TIMES

Class will take place from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm on November 10 – 11th.

The in-person HCCP exam will be proctored by US Housing Consultants on November 12 beginning at 8:30 am.
