A Vital Industry Returns to Work
On March 17th we made the decision to halt all on-site services due to the COVID-19 outbreak. At that time, we also recommended that our industry partners only enter apartments for emergency work orders from that point forward. Many in the industry adopted similar policies, which encouraged social distancing and reduced the overall exposure of both management and residents.
Now, as the country starts to look towards a careful reopening, many are asking us when they can resume normal property management procedures and how to best do so. Based on everything we have heard from our industry partners, where possible, and permitted by law, it is time for property management to carefully resume its most vital services.
Based upon recent correspondence from REAC senior leadership to active REAC inspectors, we expect that REAC inspections will return in the near future. There was no exact guidance yet regarding the date of their expected reopening, but REAC’s correspondence does confirm that REAC inspections will commence in 2020. As such, we know that many are anxious to get their properties inspection ready.
As of June 1, 2020, we will be resuming our on-site services, including Live Training, Compliance Audits, Pre-REAC Inspections, and Capital Needs Assessments. Property management is a unique and challenging business, in many cases, our workplace is also someone’s home.
